How is this breed's disposition compared to the Siberian Husky? And I'm curious... do they shed much? I know that some short-haired dogs shed more than long haired ones.
They can be stubborn, but are very trainable in the right hands, so in that way they are quite unlike Siberians. My neighbour's dogs are working gundogs, and are trained to the whistle. They are very obedient, but still have an awful lot of personality.
They don't really shed - the wire coat needs to be hand stripped regularly, which is a job that takes a little learning, but is mostly long and boring. From that point of view they are easy to keep tidy. They seem to shake off mud and water like ducks!

In addition to my husky, I have an Akita mix. Kuma is SOOO smart, but very dog-aggressive - I don't know if it's the breed, or just his charming personality. ha!
