 Thank you for the compliment! Samuel is just beautiful - he is quite unique. His littermates are more successful in the show ring, (his brother is a Champion) but they have "normal" markings. I wish he was mine!

Well, for his littermates all being normal, he has to be special or something.. I have never seen a husky with those markings, but then, I suppose I haven't seen enough huskies :P I think a lot of use wish for a dog like him ;)

Thank you - he is just beautiful! He is quite unique, I think: I've seen a lot of Sibes but never one with markings quite like his.

he does have rare markings that are very desirable indeed. very eye catching. i wish i could see more of this rare coloring in the show ring. but the light grey masks are always favored it seems to me. its the same with my breed standard schnauzers, we have salt and pepper and black. and my kennel specializes in the rare blacks but color politics have taken over the breed and blacks have a hard time in the ring.

Over here piebalds are very common, and are not discriminated against in any way. The fact that pieds are very common here is probably because we have a predominance of working lines (especially Alaskan/Anadyr dogs) and our specialist judges are also mushers who know that colour isn't important to a working dog. It is VERY hard to make up a show Champion here, and yet there are several pied Ch. Siberians in the UK. Personally, I love them, and would very much like one of my own, but fate always seems to point me towards the whole-coloured dogs when I go to choose a puppy.

I've seen some stunning black standard schnauzers in the show rings here, but I can't remember ever having seen a black miniature - it's sad to hear that the colour is becoming more rare.

The salt-and-pepper dogs are impressive too - and what a lot of work there must be in those gorgeous coats! One benefit of a Siberian is that a quick brush is all they need to be ready for the show ring! :)

lolz lucky, it takes me on average 1 1/2 for a show a groom. and with this breed u have to re shampoo and blow dry thier furnishings each show day. and the coats -.-' pretty but yet a pain. ur hand gets tired after pulling hair with a stripper after a while.plus u have to shave the neck and face and ears which is tidious work on its own then scissoring! that an art in its self, having do the eye brows and have each leg shaped into a perfect column.
